
Essential Keyboard Shortcuts Every JAMB Candidate Should Be Aware Of : ABCD PN SRY
There are Nine crucial computer keyboard shortcuts every JAMB candidate must learn to enhance their exam-writing efficiency and achieve outstanding success.
One of the primary obstacles for many JAMB candidates is their lack of proficiency in computer usage, with a significant aspect being their struggle with operating the mouse.
So JAMB has simplified this, thereby introducing what they call, CBT Without Mouse.
CBT Without Mouse simply means that you can write your JAMB without touching your mouse. To be able to write your JAMB Exam without a mouse, just know and familiarize yourself with these Nine (9) Keyboard keys.

Below is the explanation of the keys:
- Press A — to select option A as your answer to any of the questions
- press B — to select option B as your answer.
- Press C — to select option C.
- Press D — to select option D.
- Press D — to select option D.
- Press P – to go back to the previous question.
- Press N – to go to the Next question.
- Press S – to submit. Press Y – to say YES to confirm your submission.
- Press R – to return to the questions (if you mistakenly pressed S)
IMPORTANT:
- Do NOT press Y after pressing S to “submit” unless you have finished answering all the questions in all your JAMB subjects.
- Once you submit, there is NO GOING BACK.
Other Things You Ought to Know
1. You will write 4 subjects in JAMB. That’s the same subjects you chose while registering for JAMB.
2. English questions will be based on the following:
SECTION A: Comprehension/Summary
(a) 1 comprehension passage – 5 questions
(b) 1 close passage – 10 questions
(c) 1 reading text – 10 questions
SECTION B: Lexis and Structure
(a) Sentence interpretation – 5 questions
(b) Antonyms – 5 questions
(c) Synonyms – 5questions
(d) Sentence completion – 10 questions
SECTION C: Oral Forms
10 questions
Total: 60 Questions
3. Your 3 other subjects will have 40 questions each. This means you will have a total of 120 questions for the 3 subjects.
4. You will answer a total of 180 questions under 1hour 30mins.
TIP: Ensure you spend a minimum of 20 seconds answering each question.
