The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will begin selling forms for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) for the 2026/2027 school year.

JAMB shared this information on Tuesday through its official X (formerly Twitter) page. The board explained that qualified students can apply for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for the new academic session.

According to JAMB, registration for the UTME will start in January 2026 and end in March 2026, although the exact dates will be announced later. The UTME examination is planned to take place in April 2026.

The board also stated that UTME registration, including for candidates from other countries, will run from Monday, 26 January 2026, to Saturday, 28 February 2026.

JAMB said that all candidates must have their National Identification Number (NIN) before they can register for the examination.

The board explained that candidates must be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026 to be eligible to apply. However, candidates who are younger than 16 years old may still be considered if they pass a special assessment. These underage candidates must score at least 80 percent in the UTME or A-Level, Post-UTME, SSCE, and the special evaluation test.

JAMB added that the UTME results of underage candidates will only be released after the full evaluation process is completed.

For Direct Entry candidates, JAMB announced that the sale of DE forms and E-PINs will begin on Monday, 2 March 2026, and end on Saturday, 25 April 2026. These forms will only be sold at JAMB’s State and Zonal offices.

Finally, JAMB said that the main UTME examination will take place from Thursday, 16 April 2026, to Saturday, 25 April 2026. It also stated that the optional Mock UTME will be held on Saturday, 28 March 2026.
