What is IJMB?

IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board) is another special program like JUPEB that helps students get into university without going through the normal JAMB process. IJMB gives you a second chance to enter university if you had problems with your first attempt.

IJMB is a one-year program that prepares you for university education. It was created by Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria but is now accepted by many universities across Nigeria. If you complete IJMB successfully, you can enter university at 200 level.

IJMB is especially popular in northern Nigeria, but students from all parts of the country can join the program.

How IJMB Works

When you register for IJMB, you will:

1. Choose 3 subjects to study (based on your intended university course)
2. Study for one year at an IJMB center
3. Write IJMB exams at the end of the year
4. Use your IJMB certificate to apply for direct entry into university
5. Start university at 200 level if you pass well

• Biology

For Art Students:

• Literature in English
• Government
• Islamic Studies
• Arabic
• History

For Social Science Students:

• Economics
• Geography
• Government

For Law Students:

• Literature
